Ingredients

5 tbsp vegetable oil
1 green bell pepper
1 yellow onion
3 pounds lean ground beef
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/3 cup red wine
2 cans of peeled tomatoes
crushed garlic cloves
1 can tomato paste
1 1/2 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
2 1/2 tbsp basil
2 tbsp oregano
2 tbsp Parsley
1/2 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp salt
10 drops of hot pepper sauce
1 can kidney beans
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp corn meal
1/2 cup water

    How to Make Chili con carne

    • Spread oil in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat until it is just about to smoke
    • Add green pepper and onion until it is softened
    • Add the beef and cook until it has become browned
    • Add bits of bouillon cubes
    • Pour wine, tomatoes, garlic and tomato paste
    • Season it with paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, basil oregano and parsley
    • Now add in some salt and pepper
    • Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
    • Reduce the heat to medium low. Cover the pan and let the mixture simmer for about 90 minutes.
    • Add kidney beans and hot pepper sauce.
    • In a separate bowl, add together the flour, corn meal and water until a thick mixture is created.
    • Add in chili and cook for a further 10 minutes.

    • There are more than 200 varieties of chilis and have become an integral part of our diet.

    Chili can be irritating if ingested in excess. The extremely hot strains of chili can burn the inside of your mouth, so be careful with them!
