We do not have to go to the wizard school before we can sample this tasty butterbeer treat. There is are many variations of the butterbeer drink. Some of the recipes are easy while others are somewhat complicated. This recipe tries to recreate the drink Rowling describes in her books. The butterbeer can be served in different ways; it can be served either hot or cold. Both have a vanilla cream soda base topped with cream. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic variations of the buttercup. This recipe is for the cold non-alcoholic variety so your kids can have a taste too.     How to Make It

    1. Place the cream, spices, butterscotch topping, and butter in a bowl.
    2. Beat with a whisk for about 2 minutes until well blended. You don’t want to whip too long for it to become whipped cream. It should thicken though and there should be some increase in volume.
    3. Place the bowl in the freezer for about 15 minutes so it can become cold—it’s better that way.
    4. Carefully spoon cream mixture over vanilla cream soda in a mug.
