Nankhatai a traditional Indian cookie that you can easily make at home with few ingredients including gram flour, ghee and cardamom powder. These cookies are spicy, crunchy and crumbly. Serve them with some coffee or treat your guests at teatime.

How To Make Nankhatai

  1. Mix ghee with sugar in a food processer until smooth and creamy. Add yogurt and process for few seconds.
  2. Let stand for 10 minutes and then add some crushed green cardamom seeds and mix them well.
  3. Add flours, baking powder, baking soda and a pinch salt. Mix until dough comes together.
  4. Let stand for 1/2 hour or refrigerate for few minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  6. Brush some oil on a baking pan. Form dough into25 to 30 balls and place them on the baking pan.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until light golden. Cool on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container.
