How to make Murmura Ladoo

  1. Heat water over a low flame and dissolve jaggery.
  2. Once the jaggery is completely dissolved, increase the heat.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil and cook over full flame.
  4. When a double-string consistency is reached, mix in the puffed rice.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool for a while.
  6. Make round balls.

Note: Moisten the hands if the mixture is too sticky.

  1. Let cool before serving.

Trivia

In the Thirupughazh (a 15th centure anhtology dedicated to Lord Subramaniya), offerings of murmura laddoo to Lord Ganesh is mentioned.
