How to Make Kerala Fish Curry

  1. Make a paste of onion, tomatoes, garlic and green chillies.
    1. Set it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
    1. Add coconut paste and cook until it turns a golden brown.
    2. Add dry spices and cook for about 3 minutes while stirring.
    3. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Heat the remaining oil in another saucepan.
    1. Add whole red chillies, curry leaves, and mustard seeds.
    2. Fry until the seeds begin tosplutter.
    3. Add onion paste and fry until they begin tobrown.
    4. Add the cooked coconut paste, tamarind extract and a cup of water.
    5. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  4. Add fish pieces and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Trivia

Some fish like catfish do not have scales.
