How to Make Italian-Styled Meatloaf

  1. Set the oven on preheat at 350 degrees C.
  2. In a large-sized mixing bowl, bring together ground beef with the half cup of pasta sauce and all the other ingredients except cooking spray.
  3. Take a broiler pan, grease with cooking spray, and shape the beef mixture into an 8 by 4-inch loaf.
  4. Take the remaining half cup of pasta sauce and cover the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake the raw loaf at 350 degrees for one hour and ten minutes. When the thermometer gives you the internal temperature of 160 degrees, it denotes doneness.
  6. Let the loaf rest for ten minutes before cutting into twelve slices.

  • Meatloaf became popular in the 1930s during the period of “The Great Depression," when there was a shortage of food.

The Italian-styled meatloaf was brought to America by the Italian immigrants and the same recipe of making Italian meatballs was followed in making Italian meatloaf.
