How to Make Italian Style Pork Chops

  1. Place pork chops in a bowl and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  2. Pour oil in a skillet and place over medium flame. Add pork chops and let them cook until they turn brown.
  3. Remove chops from flame and set aside. Drain skillet.
  4. Remove the top part of the bell pepper and scoop out the seeds. Cut bell pepper into 1/4 –inch thick rings and set aside.
  5. Remove seeds from the remaining bell pepper and chop.
  6. In a large bowl, add chopped bell pepper with stewed tomatoes, water, onion, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic, tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
  7. In a baking pan, add mildly greased rice and spread evenly. Pour tomato mixture over rice. Place pork chops over the rice mixture. Place bell pepper ring over each pork chop.
  8. Bake the mixture without lid at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until rice turn soft or for at least 1 hour.

Trivia

You could also use red peppers instead of green peppers.

Worcestershire sauce is made from dissolved fish or anchovies that are soaked in vinegar until they melt completely.

Italian seasoning includes base herbs – basil, marjoram, parsley, thyme, rosemary and oregano, in addition to garlic, cayenne pepper, onion, mustard, cumin or coriander.
