How to Make Creamy Alfredo Sauce

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté garlic until golden.
  3. Lower heat to medium and gradually stir flour into garlic-butter mixture until the mixture is dissolved and smooth.
  4. Gradually stir Parmesan cheese into the garlic-flour mixture until the cheese is melted and the mixture thickens.
  5. Slowly pour milk into the cheese mixture, stirring constantly, until smooth.
  6. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  7. Cook and stir until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.

Alfredo was named after its inventor - Italian restaurateur, Alfredo Di Lelio, in Rome in 1914.
