    How to make Cream of Vegetable Soup

    • Start with heating the butter or oil.
    • Steam the vegetables in a separate pot.
    • Wait until the butter has melted to add the vegetables. Set a bowl of vegetables to be added towards the end.
    • Stir the vegetable until they roast lightly and add the flour.
    • Continue to mixing to ensure the flour does not stick to the sides of the pan.
    • Reduce the heat and add the vegetable stock. Keep stirring to avoid lumps.
    • Add black pepper and let simmer for 5 minutes.
    • Add milk, salt, and celery salt and stir to combine
    • Add the remaining vegetables and bring the mixture to a boil.
    • Simmer for another 10 minutes.
    • Serve warm in a large bowl with French bread or salad for best flavor.

    Cream is a dairy product made by skimming the top layer of fat from milk. It is a much used and preferred ingredient in cooking.  It is usually used to bring thickness to various foods from sauces, soups, pasta, ice creams, puddings, custards etc.  Cream is also an ideal garnishing item.  It is available in heavy fat to low fat categories depending on the use of it. Different countries have different grades of cream made available. It is also available in variations such as whipped cream, sour cream etc.
