Ingredients
- 1/2 gm chicken
- 3 cups basmati rice—soaked in water for 20 minutes
- 4 tbsp cooking oil
- 2 medium-sized onions—finely chopped
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes—finely chopped
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 green chillies - slit
- 1 cup mint leaves
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 Star Anise
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 bay leaf
Dry roast ingredients :
- 1 tbsp fennel seeds
- 4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 green cardamoms
- 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 1 tsp sonth
- 1 tsp nutmeg powder
- 2 bay leaves
How to make Chicken Biriyani with Homemade Masala Powder
5.Add the chicken, a splash of water (about ½ cup), a pinch of salt let cook. 6.Add coconut milk and 4 more cups of water and bring the mixture to a boil. Now add parboiled rice, ½ tsp lemon juice. Check the taste and season more salt if required. Stir to combine and cook over medium flame for about ten minutes or until done completely. 7.Serve the biriyani with raita/gravy and enjoy!
