How to make Walnut Brownie Gujiya

For Dough

  1. Combine all the dough ingredients except water together in a bowl.
    1. Using your fingertips slowly mix the dough ingredients together to give it a bread crumb like texture.
    2. Add water as necessary to make a hard dough.
    3. Set it aside to rest in an air tight container.

For Filling

  1. Crumb the brownies in a bowl.
  2. Mix together rest of the ingredients to make a filling.
    1. Avoid over mixing the same.
  3. Divide the dough into 25 g balls.
  4. Flatten the balls into a circle of around 6 cm Dai.
  5. Using a gujiya mould, first place the dough sheet then place a spoonful of filling to make a crescent shaped gujiya.
  6. Deep fry the brownie crescent in oil at a medium temperature until the crescent turns a golden color.
  7. Remove from the oven and place the brownie on a kitchen paper.
