Ingredients

How to make Tofu Masala

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and saute tofu till golden, transfer to another container and set aside.
  2. Add some more oilto the skillet, splutter cumin, curry leaves, ginger, chopped onion, and capsicum and stir for a few seconds.
  3. Add tomatoes, turmeric, salt and stir fry till tomatoes turn squashy.
  4. Add all the spice powders andcook for about two minutes or until the bell peppers are done
  5. Add fried tofu, sprinkle kasuri methi, and mix together. Cover with a lid andand cook for another 2 minutes
  6. Turn off the heat, garnish with coriander and enjoy!

Trivia

The word Tofu is a Japanese term which is derived from the Chinese word doufu (Mandarin) that literally means curdled bean.

The most popular legend about the invention of Tofu is that it was fashioned by Prince Liu An (179–122 BC) of the Han Dynasty who happened to be an adviser to his nephew, the Emperor of China.
