1/4 cup almonds
2 tbsp Poppy seeds
2 tbsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
20 whole white peppercorns
4 1/2 cups whole milk--boiled and cooled
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 pinch ground black pepper
saffron threads

How to Make Thandai

  1. Grind first 5 ingredients into a powder.
  2. Mix spice powder and milk in a deep bowl with a whisk. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  3. Strain the mixture through a strainer. Add the sugar, black pepper and saffron and mix well.
  4. Serve chilled Thandai in glasses.
