How to Make Meen Moilee with Steamed Rice

  • Heat coconut oil inside a pan with a heavy bottom.
  • Once the coconut is heated, add urad dal and black mustard seeds to the pan. Make sure that the urad daal is golden brown in color.
  • Once the urad daal gets golden brown in color, add curry leaves to the pan.
  • Add green chili julienne and ginger julienne to the mix
  • Add sliced onion to the pan and sauté them till they get golden brown in color.
  • Add turmeric powder and coconut milk to the mixture.
  • Simmer for around 2 to 3 minutes, and add some tomatoes.
  • Add fish fillets to the pan and simmer for another minute.
  • Add corianders and adjust the seasoning.
  • Serve the dish hot along with some steamed rice.
