Jaljeera, is a popular homemade Indian beverage. It gains its flavored from a unique spice mix called jal-jeera powder. “Jal” translates to water and “jeera” translates to cumin in Hindi. The beverage is essentially the combination of lemonade and jaljeera powder. Jaljeera powder is a blend of cumin, mint, black pepper, salt, powdered fruit, ginger, and chili. It is popular to drink during the summers in India where it’s sometimes imbibed as an appetizer that’s intended to “startle” the taste buds. Pack some Jal jeera in a smart thermos from Vaya and have on the go!
