230 ml vegetable oil to fry
1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
sliced onions
230 ml water
1 egg
1 cup cornstarch
1/3 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
½ cup of mayonnaise
3 tbsp honey
100 g sugar

Honey and walnut is a combination that will make drool worthy dishes. Shrimp is a favorite among foodies, and when cooked right, it can make a perfect meal for an ordinary dinner or a special date! It can be cooked easily and with honey and walnut, it makes for a dish that is delicious. This recipe, if done exactly will bring out crisp shrimps, and candies walnuts, a perfect combination that is hard to resist! If done right, the meal will serve four people.

Health benefits

The best benefit about shrimp is how they contain very few calories compared to the amount of proteins they offer. For instance, a medium sized shrimp provides about 7 calories while an equivalently sized chicken offers 22 calories. This shrimp is rich in protein and contains very little fat and carbohydrate. Shrimp is also known for being an excellent source of selenium and vitamin B12.

How to make Honey Walnut Shrimp

  • Stir together water and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat it at high settings and bring it to a boil.
  • Stir in walnuts and continue boiling for 2 more minutes.
  • Drain the mixture and place it on a cookie sheet to dry.
  • In a heavy deep skillet, heat oil over medium high heat.
  • In a separate small bowl, stir in the egg. In a different small bowl, stir in the cornstarch.
  • Dip the shrimp into the egg and then the cornstarch.
  • Fry the shrimp for a few minutes or until they turn golden brown on the outside.
  • Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon and drain it on a paper towel.
  • In a separate medium bowl, stir in mayonnaise, sweetened condensed milk and honey. Whisk well.
  • Toss it to coat the shrimp.
  • Sprinkle with walnuts and green onions (optional)
  • Enjoy!
