    How to Make Fried Chicken

    1. Cut the whole chicken into 4 breasts, 4 thighs, 4 legs and 4 wings. Set them aside.
    2. Preheat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
    3. While the oil is getting heated, in a large bowl combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix until well combined.
    4. In a separate large bowl, pour in the buttermilk so that the chicken is easily immersed in it.
    5. Now take the breasts of the chicken (one at a time), evenly dust them with the flour mixture, then dip them in the buttermilk, until they are fully coated.
    6. Spread another layer of flour mixture over the breasts. Make sure that the chicken is thoroughly coated otherwise the crust of the chicken will not be crispy.
    7. Gently place the breasts in the heated oil. Repeat the process with the other parts of the chicken.
    8. Cook the chicken pieces for at least 15 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown. Remove the chicken pieces from the oil. Drain the excess oil.
    9. Serve the hot fried chicken and enjoy!
