Spinach Lasagna is as simple a dish as you would expect it to be, but once the final product goes into your mouth and you start munching on it, only then do you really get to realize the wonderful taste present within this rather simple but delicious dish. There is nothing exuberant about the mixture of spinach or lasagna, but this dish brings forth a brilliant amalgamation of delicious flavors that you will savor.

Lasagna finds its roots in the history of Italy, but the mixture of lasagna and spinach is very recent.

Health Benefits

The dish is low on the calorie count and is rich on antioxidants and calcium. Lasagna with any form of vegetable is always rich in calcium, which is why you can count on that.

How to Make Delicious Spinach Lasagna

  1. Preheat your oven to around 350 degrees F
  2. Simmer spinach, oregano, garlic, basil, onion in olive oil inside a large pot
  3. Set the burner to medium heat and pour in water and spaghetti. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Mix cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, parsley, pepper, egg and salt inside a large bowl.
  5. Place some sauce at the bottom of a pan and place uncooked noodles at the top of it. Keep repeating until all of it is layered. Finish with sauce at the end.
  6. Cover with foil and put the pan inside the preheated oven for 55 minutes. Remove the foil and then bake for another 15 minutes.

The word Lasagna was previously used to refer to the pot that the food was cooked in, rather than the food itself. The word seems to be derived from the Greek word ‘chamber pot’ (lasanon).
