    How to make Chewy Ginger Cookies

    1. Preheat oven to 175°
    2. Sift the flour, salt, allspice, ground ginger, baking soda, and cinnamon together into a mixing bowl then stir thoroughly.
    3. Beat the sugar and butter together in a large bowl using an electric mixer until the mixture turns smooth and creamy.
    4. Beat the egg and molasses into the creamed butter mixture.
    5. Gradually stir flour mixture into the butter mixture just before they come together into a batter.
    6. Gently fold crystallized ginger into the batter.
    7. Roll rounded teaspoon-sized amounts of dough between your hands into small balls and place the balls on the ungreased baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
    8. Bake in the preheated oven until the tops are rounded and slightly cracked, about 10 minutes.
    9. Cool cookies on baking sheets for 1 minute before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
