How to make Cherry Ice Cream

  • Heat cherries, 1 cup whipped cream, milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan on a medium flame for 5-6 minutes. Lower the flame and cook for fifteen more minutes.
  • Allow the cherry mixture to cool down to room temperature and pour it into a blender half full. Puree the mixture in batches until smooth. Pour this blended mixture into a large bowl and stir in the remaining 3/4 cup whipped cream.
  • Stir in corn starch and lemon juice. Pour into ice cream maker and keep inside the refrigerator for some 2 hours.

Trivia

Ice creams were created for the first time in 500 BC when ice was combined with flavors to make cool and delicious treats during the summers. It is a tradition for cherry ice cream to be served at the International Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Georgia.
