Apple and Orange Chicken is a simple recipe that uses apples and oranges to add amazing flavors as well as nutritional value.  The fruit juices combine to impart chicken an unparalleled flavor and appeal like you’ve never tasted before. You need just a handful of ingredients to rustle up this dish in a few minutes. Oranges and apple together make this dish a tad bit sweet and tart while the garlic, onion and the spices bring in a bold taste resulting in a chicken that is absolutely delicious.

Though it might seem that apples and oranges might not mix well together, they work really well in this recipe and impart the chicken a unique flavor! In fact, the popular phrase “apples and oranges” has been used when referring to two things that are so different they cannot be compared!

How to make Apple and Orange Chicken

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C. Arrange the chicken pieces in the baking dish (9 x 13 in) which has been lightly greased.
  • Add the cream of chicken soup mix, onion soup mix, garlic, soy sauce, orange and apple juice, pepper, and salt. Mix them all together and add to the chicken.
  • Cover and bake the chicken for about 1 hour. Remove the lid and bake again for ½ hour until the chicken turns brown.

Apple and Orange Chicken can be cooked evenly by using an aluminum foil which will also help keep the food moist.
