Murabbas are basically dried or cooked and candied fruits/vegetables. Amla is Hindi for Indian gooseberries and amla murabba refers to cooked gooseberries candied in sugar syrup. Though native to India, this fruit is also very common throughout Nepal. You can identify ripened Indian gooseberries with their greenish-yellow hues and round shape. Indian gooseberries are ridiculously sour and therefore, perfect for candying.
