Soaking syrup :
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- 3/4 cup water or lightly brewed regular tea
- 1/4 cup orange or pineapple juice
- 1/2 grated nutmeg
- 1 stick cinnamon
Dough :
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup dry yeast
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 3-4 tbsp Raisins
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Glaze/garnish/topping (optional) :
- orange marmalade
- whipped cream
- fresh pitted cherries or orange slices
