How to make Bihari Khichdi

  1. Rinse rice and lentils separately.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pressure pan. Fry cumin seeds, bay leaves, dry red chili, and ginger-garlic paste.
  3. Add the lentils. Keep stirring until slightly browned. Add rice, vegetables, 3 cups of water, and salt. Pressure cook up to 3 whistles.
  4. Roast the spices and make a fine powder of them.    

    5.Open the cooker once the steam is released.

    6.Add a teaspoon of the spice mix with 2 tbsp ghee. Stir to combine.

    7.Serve and enjoy!
