Evening foods for a New Year’s Party

You don’t want to start your year with usual boring routine. It’s the beginning of the year. There will be making and breaking of resolutions. There will also be letting go of old things or people and letting in of new things into your life. No matter what happens, you will always find comfort in the food and a reason to a throw a party. It might just be a small gathering, but you still have to plan and prepare the dishes ahead. Don’t get stuck in the kitchen cooking at the last minute, while everyone is chatting, and enjoying the party. Here are a few dishes you can try to start the first day of the year.

Sausage rolls

These are pretty easy to prepare and will require only a few minutes for the preparation. This recipe doesn’t use a lot of ingredients either. Sausage meat is easily available in the supermarket. You can enjoy these sausage rolls with any simple dips like ketchup or mint chutney.

Turkish Pizza or Lahmacun

When you think of having a pizza for lunch or dinner or just satisfying your in-between mealtime hunger, you get tempted to order in. No matter how healthy tags the brands have, homemade pizzas are better and healthier, perhaps not fancier. Turkish pizza uses ciabatta, an Italian bread. The toppings include minced lamb meat and super spices. Once your pizza is baked, slice it into bite-size pieces and enjoy.

Bruschetta

This is an amazing dish and can be a wonderful appetizer or even a snack. Bruschetta is very easy to make and uses very few ingredients. Make sure tomatoes and basil are available because this dish is incomplete without them.  You can choose a baguette or a whole wheat bread as an alternative. Once you toast the

Chocolate mousse

In every special occasion, there must be chocolate. Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, when made with less sugar, is one of the healthiest ingredients. Unfortunately, many top brands don’t serve the right form of chocolate anymore. Chocolate mousse is a very simple recipe. As its homemade, you are in control of how much sugar goes into it.

Potato wedges

One of the must include snacks for your New year’s evening party is potato wedges. It uses very little ingredients and again, pretty easy to make too. Children and adults will enjoy this wonderful appetizer or eat them as a side dish if you wish. If you are worried about your weight and health, don’t fry, bake it. Plus, it has garlic and parmesan, so let your conscience accept this as a healthy choice. After all, you will not eat this every day. Relish these golden delights with parsley and cheese dip.

Brownies

It’s New Year’s Evening, and it’s totally fine to include a cheat day, that is if you are on a strict diet regime. Brownie is one of the famous and the best cake made of rich dark chocolate. It’s easy to prepare and will wow all your guests with this simple yet tempting cake. You can top with walnuts or Oreo or Bourbon cookies.
