How to Make Wine Cookies

  1. Whisk a cup of sugar, oil, wine, aniseed, and salt in a large bowl till it becomes well-blended.
  2. Stir the flour into the mixture, gradually, while kneading it to form a dough of soft texture. Cover the mixture and let it rest for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  4. Once the dough has been set for an hour take ½ inch balls and roll into a snake-shaped cylinder and then connect the ends to make a donut shape.
  5. Dip the tops of the cookies into the remaining sugar and them one inch apart from each other on a well-greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake the donuts for 25 minutes till you see them turning golden brown. Remove the pan from the oven and then let it cool before serving.

Trivia:

We have been told that the older the wine the better it tastes, however, that is not the case at all.in some cases that might be true, however, if you are looking for health benefits then it is better that you go with the red wine.

Also, the red color of the red wine comes from the grape skins.
