Ingredients

How to make Triple Threat Fruit Smoothie

  • Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process at a high speed for 40 seconds.
  • If it’s too thick, then add some milk so that reaches the desired consistency. You can also add some chia seeds to the smoothie for added health benefits.
  • Use 1 cup ice if you are not using a frozen banana.

Trivia

  • Some people mix up and interchange smoothies with milk shakes even though there is a major difference between the two. Milkshakes include ice cream that makes it creamy, thick and sweet whereas smoothies are mostly just milk, water and yogurt based drinks that heavily rely on fruits and vegetables for their thickness.
  • Smoothies were invented by a lactose intolerant teenage boy Steven Kuhnau in the 70s. He wanted to enjoy the drink that most of his peers at milkshake joints enjoyed. Since he couldn’t have any dairy, milk and ice cream were out of the question. He started using fruits, ice and juices to concoct delicious blends and called them smoothies. Not only did it taste great but it also improved his health.
  • Smoothies have become really popular in the last decade or so due to people becoming more health conscious.
  • Did you know that strawberries are the only fruit that have their seeds outside?
  • Strawberries come from the rose family.
