Any idea what sidecar is? Here’s a hint—it has nothing to with sides or cars! While there are many dishes that have fitting names, sidecar belongs to a breed of foods that means nothing to many people! However, aficionados of fine dining know very well that Sidecar is the name of a cocktail made of orange liqueur, cognac, and lemon juice.

    How to make sidecar

    1. Combine all ingredients, add crushed ice, and give the mixture a vigorous shake.
    2. Strain the cocktail into a cocktail glass.
    3. Add a dash of sugar and rub a piece of lemon along the rim
    4. Garnish with a lemon wedge and enjoy your cocktail!

You can also mix the ingredients in equal proportions. Fans of sidecar do it, and they claim that it couldn’t taste better! Mixing cocktails, just like cooking, allows for creativity and experimentation.

While we are not here to advocate alcohol consumption, it is inevitable to mention alcohol while discussing cocktails. In this case, it is no harm learning that many cocktails, like sidecar, contain lemon juice, which is known for its healing properties. However, the medicinal properties of lemon are best experienced when you remove alcohol from the picture.

    Trivia

Like many cocktails, the origin of sidecar still in debate. It may have originated in the Ritz Hotel, Paris or in the popular Buck’s club, London. Interestingly, there are two versions of this cocktail—the English and French! The main difference lies in the proportion of ingredients being mixed. Whichever way you prefer sidecar, it all depends on the quality of ingredients!
