So how about taking a humble dosa and turning it into a healthy and tasty palak or spinach dosa? While a palak dosa is not as crispy as the regular masala or sada dosas, it is jam-packed with flavors.

How to make Palak Dosa

  • Take a deep bottomed bowl and put the urad dal and methi seeds in it.
  • Soak them in water for 2 hours.
    • Drain the mixture well.
  • Put the dal and methi seeds in a blender.
  • Add ½ cup of water and blend them to form a smooth paste.
  • Add the spinach puree, whole wheat flour, and salt to the paste in a bowl and mix well.
    • Add a small cup of water to achieve the proper consistency.
    • Mix everything well to form the dosa batter.
  • Take a girdle and put it on a medium flame.
  • Scoop a ladle full of the batter and spread it on a girdle in a circular motion.
    • Note: Make sure to spread the batter thinly over the girdle.
  • Dot the edges of the dosa with some oil and sprinkle some more over it.
  • Cook the dosa on a medium flame until it turns golden brown on the bottom.
  • Fold the dosa and take it off the flame.
