Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
12 - 15 baby corn cobs
½ in ginger
2 - 3 green chilies
3 - 4 garlic cloves
½ cup onion – finely chopped
1 small capsicum
1 tsp soy sauce
½ tsp apple cider/white vinegar
1 tsp chopped celery
2 tbsp water
1 tsp corn starch
salt as needed
black pepper powder
sugar as needed
2 - 3 tsp oil for frying the baby corn
1 tbsp oil for the sauce
For Batter
2 - 3 tbspall-purpose flour
2 - 3 tbsp cornstarch
water as required to make a thick paste
salt and pepper as required

How to make Chili Baby Corn

  • Combine thecorn flour, all-purpose flour, salt, water, and pepper into a smooth paste.
  • Rinse and dry the baby corn.
  • Heat oil on a tava or a frying pan.
  • Coat each baby corn piece with the batter.
  • Pan fry the baby corn till the edges and sides turn a nice golden brown.

Chili Baby Corn

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai or wok.
    • Addonions, garlic, ginger, and slit green chilies.
    • Stir fry at a medium temperatureuntil the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the soy sauce and stir well.
  • Sprinkle black pepper powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Stir in 2 tbsp of water.
  • Combine the mixture with baby corn and chopped celery then stir well.
  • Sprinkle 1 tsp of corn flour into the dish to give it a glazy stature.
  • Mix well and cook for another 1-2 minsor until the corn flour is cooked. –
  • Pour in the white vinegar or apple cider and stir again.
  • Add salt, pepper or soy sauce to taste.
