How to Make Prawn Pollichathu

  • Make sure that you clean the prawns properly before boiling them.
  • Now marinate the prawns in a mixture of chili powder, turmeric, salt and lime.
  • Keep mixing them properly for 10 minutes.
  • Now heat oil in a separate pan.
  • Pour the prawns into the pan and sauté them.
  • Keep them on a low flame and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Keep them aside once done.
  • Now, heat oil in a different pan and fry the mustard and fenugreek seeds.
  • Now add the curry leaves and rest of the ingredients.
  • Then add some fish stock.
  • Sauté this mixture until the onions and shallots turn golden.
  • Keep stirring until the mixture thickens up.
  • Once the prawns are dark brown, add coconut milk.
  • Cook for 5 minutes more.
  • Add salt and pepper.
  • Serve with boiled or fried rice.
