Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
½ tsp cumin seeds
1 sprig curry leaves
¼ tsp asafoetida
2 dry red chillies
4 medium sized tomatoes – chopped
1 tbsp chilli powder
2 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp rice flour
water as needed
1 cup cooked rice sevai

How to make Tomato Sevai

  1. Heat oil in a kadai.
    1. Add all of the seasoning ingredients.
    2. Sauté for a min.
    3. Add tomatoes, salt and sugar.
    4. Mix well and cook until tomatoes turn mushy
    5. Add in all spice powders and mix well.
  2. Pour in water.
    1. Bring it to boil.
  3. Combine the rice flour and water in a bowl.
    1. Mix well.
  4. Combine the flour mixture and curry.
  5. Cook until the curry thickens slightly.
  6. Mix in the tomato gravy with the rice sevai evenly.
  7. Enjoy while it is hot.
