Monsoon season can be a difficult time for people’s immune systems. The wet and the rain can take a toll on your vitality and cause you to succumb to illness. People also tend to exchange bacteria more often during monsoon season because they are indoors together, so it is vital that you take precautions. Below are some great home remedies that can help you improve your immunity and survive the monsoon season.

Ginger Tea

Ginger is one of the healthiest spices to consume during bad weather conditions – this is especially true during monsoon season. Ginger has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that make it a natural health herb. Transforming the root into a tea simply makes it so that your body can absorb the properties of ginger more effectively. To make the ginger tea, simply fill a pan with water and add freshly chopped ginger pieces to it. Then boil the water and add some tea leaves and honey. Sprinkle a little lemon juice into the tea to fortify it with vitamin C, and you’ll be prepared to survive the monsoon season.

Garlic and Honey

You may not enjoy consuming raw garlic and honey – we can admit it doesn’t sound very appealing. But it is without a doubt effective when transformed into a tonic. It helps to boost your immunity which is important during monsoon season when people tend to stay indoors more. This will cause people to spread bacteria amongst themselves more often. To make this tonic, simply crush some garlic cloves with the flat side of the knife. Place the crushed cloves in a glass jar, cover them with organic raw honey, and let it sit for a few days so that the two ingredients fuse together. Refrigerate the jar and consume it slowly throughout the monsoon season.

Hot Toddy

Hot toddy is a bit more powerful than the previous mentioned remedies. This is primarily because it calls for the addition of a splash of whiskey with your tea. So, you need to be a bit more cautious with it. Don’t drink it before having to do important things. This recipe is actually fairly simple to make. You want to boil several tea bags in a pot of water, with ½ a lemon sliced into quarters. As the tea leaves boil, pour in some raw organic honey, and whiskey. You can exchange the whiskey for rum in a pinch.
