Glowing Skin

Your skin is the body’s largest organ, and as a result, it can require upkeep and maintenance to keep it healthy. Many things can harm your skin, including, sun exposure, pollution, stress, hormones, and especially a bad diet. Eating the wrong foods can leave your skin dull, tarnished, full of acne and pigmentation. People spend lots of money on products to fix their skin problems in the form of makeup products and skin cleansers. But you can actually keep your skin looking healthy and glowingly beautiful by maintaining a skin friendly diet.

At its core, a good skin diet requires you to regularly consume a combination of healthy fats, veggies, and fruits. The diet avoids foods that are processed, spicy, high in sodium, high in sugar, oily, satiated with estrogen, overcooked, or raise your internal body temperature. There are also some specific guidelines you should adhere to:

  • Drink water on an empty stomach.
  • Always eat breakfast.
  • Commit to healthy snacking.
  • Eat foods that have positive benefits on your liver and gut.
  • Avoid foods that cause allergic reactions like seafood, dairy, and gluten.
  • Season your food using herbs and spices.

Below are some specific foods you can eat to help you achieve a high functioning and healthy skin diet:

Dark Green Leafy Vegetables

Dark leafy green veggies like, kayle, chard, spinach, etc. help to diminish your skin’s dullness and instill it with a healthy glow thanks to their vitamins and antioxidants.

Water

Water helps to keep your skin and other organs hydrated and operating properly. It also plays a direct role in flushing harmful toxins from your body which can diminish your skin’s luster.

Turmeric

Turmeric actually helps to eliminate harmful bacteria both inside and outside your body. It contains curcumin, a phytonutrient that has antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Fish And Fish Oil

Fish is a great source of healthy fats like, omega-3 fatty acids. They infuse your skin with natural oils that reduce inflammation, scaly skin, redness, and acne.
