Tea Bags

Bags beneath your eyes can be a real eyesore. They make you appear haggard and tired, even when you’re actually anything but. With some effective natural remedies, you can look the way you actually feel by removing those pesky bags.

Warm Tea Bags

Why This Works

Tea bags are an old method for treating puffy eyes and eliminating unflattering dark circles. You can use just about any type of tea but stick to green or black for the best results. The caffeine in tea is what helps to reduce the swelling beneath your eyes and promote blood circulation.

Ingredients

  • Tea bags
  • Warm water

Procedure

  1. Soak 2 tea bags in warm water for 5 minutes.
  2. Place the warm tea bags over your eyelids.
  3. Cover your eyes using a soft cloth and leave it for 30 minutes.

Green Tea Bags

Why This Works

The antioxidants in green tea make this treatment work. They help to rejuvenate your skin and reduce swelling, puffiness, and redness below your eyes. The tannins in green tea also work to reduce eye inflammation.

Ingredients

  • Green tea bags
  • Cold water

Procedure

  1. Refrigerate the tea bags.
  2. Cover your eyelids with the cold tea bags for 10 – 15 minutes.

Essential Oil

Why This Works

An essential oil treatment is one of the best things for treating swelling and bags beneath your eyes. This blend helps to soothe your skin, alleviate stress, and even tones the skin. It also has natural anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties that can reduce the bags beneath your eyes.

Ingredients

  • 1 drop lavender oil
  • 1 drop lemon oil
  • 1 drop chamomile oil
  • 1 teaspoon water

Procedure

  1. Mix all the essential oil together with the water.
  2. Gently massage this oil under beneath eyes before going to bed.
  3. Let the treatment sit overnight.
