When you think of summer, you think of ice creams and fizzy drinks, don’t you? Most of your summer memories are about the food and beverages you had, and It’s understandable. But it’s important to also understand that summer is a season where your body is prone to a lot of diseases and dehydration. It’s so easy to be tempted by junk food that you hardly give it a thought. But health comes first, and while you can enjoy some seasonal foods, it’s best to avoid the dangerous ones. So here are the best and worst summer foods to have

Here’s What You Can Consider Best

Watermelon

Watermelon is known to be a wonderful coolant for the stomach. And since watermelon consists of more than 90% of the water, it’s the tastiest way to keep yourself hydrated all day long during these scorching summers. And guess what? Watermelon is wonderful for the skin. Watermelon clears up acne, stops the skin from aging process and brightens up your complexion.  Few pieces of watermelon every day could literally save you.

Zucchini

Zucchini could become your best friend if you come to know its nutritive properties. Zucchini contains zero fat and cholesterol and contains only 20 calories per cup making it a very friendly veggie if you’re considering losing weight and it also contains 35% of the recommended amount of Vitamin C. Zucchini can be diced or sliced or rolled or grilled, have it any way you want.

Fruit salad

Summer is the season of a lot of nutritious fruits. So why not make a salad of all of them and give your body and skin a treat? It is the season for mangoes, berries, grapes, pineapple, and stone fruit as well. Every one of these fruits has antioxidants and vitamins filled in them. So just take one of each, cut them and add your favorite dressing and munch on it every noon.

Bottle Gourd

This wouldn’t probably be on your favorite veggies list, but this vegetable is really good for promoting weight loss. It’s filled with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium and magnesium. Surprising, isn’t it? It is also is good on blood pressure and the heart, and it also purifies the blood. Make sure you have this veggie at least thrice a week.

Frozen Margaritas and Pina Coladas

Frozen cocktails can be a really bad decision, especially on a summer evening. Margaritas contain loads of calories and clubbed with alcohol accelerate the number of calories and sugar you’re better off avoiding. Alcohol basically increases your appetite and totally slows down your metabolism.

Snow Cones

Snow cones might be tempting during summers, but they’re actually a really bad idea. Besides being filled with shaved ice, these cones are made of syrup which is a simple sugar but takes away your appetite for good food and the syrups are full of artificial ingredients which damage your system. Instead, you can treat yourself to popsicles which contain natural ingredients.

Hot dogs

Hot dogs contain processed meat which has been linked to stomach cancer. The WHO (World Health Organization) classified meats which are processed in the same category as tobacco and asbestos. Hot dogs don’t sound as tempting anymore, do they?
