Ayurvedic Wisdom

Living as long as possible is on the mind of many people. It is natural to not want to die or at the very least to not want to look your age. Thankfully, there are some Ayurvedic measures you can take to ensure that you live longer and look younger. They all work to optimize your body’s ability to function, which is the key to living a long life.

1. Indian Goose Berry or Amla

Indian goose berries or amla as they’re more commonly known are a very popular herb in Ayurvedic medicine. They act as a balancing force between the three body types or doshas: vatta, kapha, and pitta. It is a powerful source of vitamin C which helps your body to fight against disease and sickness – the first step to living longer. Amla is also believed to be a very strong antioxidant that can actually slow down the aging process and promote longevity.

2. Ginger

Ginger is a root that has near mythic status as a medicinal herb. It is portrayed in various media and stories as an herb that can vitalize the body and raise the potential of your organs. It has a high antioxidant content that help it to fight off diseases, resist diabetes, and prevent degenerative diseases.

3. Cardamon

Cardamom tea has been used in China and other parts of Asia for a long time as a means of achieving longevity. The tea is supposed to help flush out toxins and keep your internal organs and bodily systems running optimally. It is also rich in essential oils, regulates glucose levels, and improves blood circulation.

4. Ajwain

The seeds from the alwain plant are great for your heart’s health. They possess thymol and niacin, two components that directly influence heart health. It is also a natural antibiotic.

5. Jeera

Jeera, more commonly known as cumin is a natural remedy for issues effecting gut health. It is a great source of dietary fiber and iron, two elements needed to keep your stomach healthy and digestive tract working optimally. Jeera has the unique ability to stimulate the creation of gastric juices that can aid in digestion and it also has the ability to soothe the nervous system.

6. Cloves

Cloves are underrated as a medicinal herb. Most people choose to use them for their scent. But cloves are analgesic, anti-fungal, and antibacterial. They also have a lot of manganese which is great for regulating your metabolism and keeping your nervous system stable.

7. Black pepper

Black pepper is a spice that everyone in the world uses pretty much. But it s great for more than just flavor. One of its more interesting medicinal properties is that it boosts the nutritive value of turmeric. It makes it so that you can better absorb turmeric’s properties, and it makes your digestive system stronger.

8. Honey

Honey is a superfood that sits at the top of superfoods. It is used for many different purposes. For you though, it is a beauty agent that helps you to slow the aging process down and infuse your skin with minerals and nutrients.
