Remove Skin Tan

If you get too much of a tan, you don’t have to just sit and wait for it to fade. Tanning is basically what happens when your skin is damaged. You can use certain home ingredients to remove the damaged skin cells and revitalize your skin. Below are just a few of the recipes you can try to reverse that tan.

  1. Papaya and honey mask

The enzymes present in papaya are excellent for skin exfoliation and can remove dead skin cells and lighten your skin. The honey helps to soothe your skin and moisturize it.

How to use it
Mash the papaya into a pulp and mix it with a tablespoon of honey. Apply the paste directly to your face and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

  1. Yoghurt and orange mask

The vitamin C content in this mask helps to diminish blemishes and keeps your skin tight. The yogurt can even out your tone and is a natural moisturizer and anti-inflammatory.

How to use it
Combine 1 tablespoon of yogurt with a small amount of orange juice in a glass bowl. Then apply the mixture to your face. Rinse the mixture off using water after 30 minutes.

  1. Potato Juice

Potato juice can function as a bleaching agent and lighten your skin. It is also an astringent and can clean your pores making it a great remedy for treating sun tans.

How to use it
Squeeze and extract the juice from a potato. Apply the juice to your face and let it sit for 2-5 minutes. Then rinse your face with water.

  1. Turmeric and gram flour mask

Turmeric is one of the best and oldest ingredients used for skin treatment. This mask is great for not just eliminating your tan but also removing freckles and dark spots.

How to use it
Mix 2 tbsp of gram flour, 1 pinch turmeric, 2 tbsp thick milk, grated orange peels, and chilled rose water. Apply the ingredients to your face and let the mask sit for 20 minutes. Gently scrub the mask using a moist cotton ball, then rinse off with cold water.

  1. Tomato, Aloe Vera, and Masoor Dal Mask

This is a powerful mask that can cleanse, rejuvenate, and brighten your skin.

How to use it
Soak 1 tbsp masoor dal in water for 20-30 minutes then grind it into a paste. Combine it with 1 tbsp of fresh tomato puree and a leaf’s worth of aloe vera gel. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse your face off with cold water.

  1. Lemon and Honey Mask

Lemon is a natural astringent that can remove your dead skin cells and reveal a ice non tanned layer of healthy skin. The honey helps to moisturize and hydrate that layer.

How to use it
Squeeze lemon juice into a bowl and mix it with a tbsp of honey. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water.
