Pastas

Bolognese, meatballs, marinara, the choice is always spaghetti as it is an all-time hit! However, choosing a pasta is quite a decision than it might seem so. Some kinds of pasta require low-key seasoning, and some are dolloped with sauce and seasoning. Each type of pasta varies from another in size and thickness. However, what you don’t know is that there are a lot of kinds of pasta for your love of Italian cuisine. Here are 11 types of pasta that might work even better for you.

Cavatappi

This pasta is perfect for that white sauce Alfredo pasta you love. The ridges of the pasta mean that creamy, cheesy sauces won’t keep dripping off the noodles. This kind of pasta can make any dish fun and tasty.

Gigli

This pasta has a cone-like shape to it and a ruffled edge which makes it quite ideal for dishes needing heavy sauces. This frilled pasta is also known as Campanelle. This one is a must-try.

Orecchiette

Perfect for holding crumbled cheese, chopped vegetables and ground beef this pasta has been named for its little ears like structure.

Radiatori

If you are one of those people who can’t resist melting, gooey cheese in every bite you take, then Radiatori is the answer for you. Substitute it in your bake or casserole for effect. The frills you see? They catch everything.

Gemelli

This twisted pasta version is absolutely perfect for any pasta dish you like, and it is an excellent substitute for penne and rotini. Twist-up your pasta game now!

Bucatini

Looks like spaghetti at first, but don’t dismiss it yet!  It is a long shaped pasta which works great for thin-tomato based sauces. Toss the pasta after adding sauce and every bite will be rich and well flavored.

Pappardelle

If you want to cut-short a lasagne making process, then this one is for you. Without the hard work off layering a casserole dish, you can prepare this one. The spaghetti sauce will seem like a totally new dish with these soft, wide noodles.

Mafalda

Ruffled and wide, these noodles are perfect for heavy cream sauces, herbs, and crushed tomato. Fun to eat, it’s ideal for a Saturday night dinner.

Ditalini

As kindergarten, macaroni type it looks, this Ditalini has another great use! You can add this tubular, tiny pasta to any soup and make it a heartier affair without making it an amazing carb treat.

Rigatoni

Rigatoni is a long, hollow, ridged edges noodle which is ideal for gooey chunky sauces and gooey cheeses. They look like stuffed shells and are quite yummy to miss out.

Cavatelli

For a heartier, warm meal, just go for this one! For any dish that needs gnocchi, this is totally recommended for its chewiness.
