Here’s How to Make a Facial Moisturizer at Home

Your skin feels dry after you take a shower. You’ve tried numerous creams but the skin still does not feel moisturized enough. Summers present multiple gifts of nature but also the problem of dry and dull skin. Here are some natural facial moisturizers to treat dry skin.

Homemade Facial Moisturizers

  • Shea butter face moisturizer: You need 1/2 cup of shea butter, 6-7 drops of seabuckthorn oil, and 6-7 drops of rosehip seed oil in addition to 6-7 drops of geranium oil and 1 tsp of avocado oil. Melt the shea butter and remove from the heat. Add avocado oil and mix well. Add all the essential oils and whip the mixture until it becomes creamy in texture. This blend is an excellent face moisturizer and can be used as a face cream to treat dry skin. Store it in an airtight glass jar.
  • Take 1/2 cup jojoba oil, 1/2 tsp emu oil, 4-5 drops of essential oils (rosemary, lavender, and lemongrass, etc). In a glass bottle, add the jojoba oil. Add in the essential oils and mix well. Use this mixture to massage your skin. The blend will act as a natural face moisturizer. The essential oils protect the skin cells as they have antiseptic properties. They heal infections and prevent skin damage that is caused by excessive dryness.
  • Take 1 tsp honey, 2 tsp glycerin, 1 tsp lime juice, and 2 tsp green tea. Mix all the ingredients together and massage your skin with this mixture. Allow it to stand overnight. Wash with cold water in the morning. Glycerin and honey help to keep the skin moisturized while lemon possesses brightening properties. Green tea will treat skin infections effectively.
  • It is also very important to keep your skin hydrated and apply sunscreen lotion on your skin. Do not step out in the sun without your hat, goggles, and sunscreen. Keep a water bottle handy at all times.
