We also recommend eating sufficient portions of starchy foods such as bread, potato, pasta, and rice. These are rich in fiber, B vitamins, and energy. Prefer wholegrain foods with lots of fiber over refined starchy foods.
Protein-rich Foods
Teens should also consider including protein-rich foods such as pulses and beans in their diet. Teenage girls should particularly consider consuming foods rich in iron to protect against anemia.
Other Foods
Teenagers must drink lots of water daily and avoid eating fish such as marlin and swordfish since they contain high levels of mercury that can hinder with the development of the nervous system. It is also best to avoid the consumption of processed foods which include instant noodles as well as fat-rich foods such as burgers and chips.
