As men age, lower levels of testosterone become a common problem. Men who suffer from low levels of testosterone have an increased level of the hormone estrogen. To keep a check on the increasing level of estrogen, it is advised to take a diet that blocks estrogen. The increased levels of estrogen raise the risk of heart disease in both men and women. It also causes certain types of cancers.
The foods that block estrogen contain phytochemicals which are helpful in reducing the level of estrogen in the blood. These phytochemicals are called so because they are derived from plants.
