Summer is here and with it comes the time for summer activities. But what are the best activities to do during summer? Read on to get some ideas so you can start enjoying your summer vacation!

Have a picnic

There’s nothing more romantic than a nice picnic, especially during the summer. Try making something refreshing, like fresh lemonade next to a fruit salad and sandwiches. Your refreshing drink will stay cold if you carry it in an insulated flask. Also, make sure to pack a nice blanket and a book or your kindle. Nuts and dried fruits in an insulated food jar like Vaya Preserve will work well for picnics.

Go camping

Going camping is a great way to get away from it all and take some time out for yourself. It is also a wonderful way to force yourself to put down your cellular phones and other screens. While you’re living outside in the great outdoors, there’s no need to be online. Use this as an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, your family and friends in a natural way. It will also help reset your circadian rhythms.

Walk more places in the evening

There’s no time like summer evenings for walking around. It is a great way to get that little extra bit of exercise and cut down on the stagnant living, especially if you work behind a desk. Summer is also beautiful – plants and flowers are showing their best sides during the summer -so you should be sure to take your time to literally smell the roses and take in the sights. The only precaution you need to make sure you take is to stay hydrated. If you’re exposing yourself to the heat, you risk becoming dehydrated which can have serious health consequences including heat stroke. Always carry your trusted water bottle with you, with water or an infused drink of your choice.

Plant Trees

Although the best season to plant trees is monsoon, you are not out that much when it is raining. And summer is the time you are out and about, so why not redo your garden with all that time? You can plant your favorite herbs and spices alongside some of your favorite veggies. You’ll be able to pickle them in the fall and be completely ready for winter.

Summer is the time to get outside and do things you don’t normally have time for. Make sure you are completely heat protected and hydrated, so you can go about enjoying all those activities that you have planned for the summer!
