Let’s remember the first rule of beach vacation – RELAX! Beaches are all about enjoying yourself and your free time. And there is nothing more threatening towards your successful relaxation and beach fun times than bad beach vacation planning. When you plan a vacation properly you will be able to avoid suffering, such as sun burns, sand in your shorts, wet clothes, etc. and focus on what really matters, getting plenty of vitamin D, and having lots of fun in the water and sand. Here are a few guidelines for making sure that you are properly planning for the beach.
Your time at the beach is greatly affected by what you bring with you. You can’t build a sand castle if you don’t have a beach set of a shovel and bucket. You can’t avoid sunburn if you don’t have a method of protecting yourself from sun exposure.
What you bring to the beach depends on what you plan on doing at the beach. If you want to snorkel, you’ll need a mask and goggles for example. But regardless of the beach you go to, there are a few things you should always bring with you:
- Sunscreen (with UVA and UVB protection)
- Scarf, umbrella or hat
- Beach towel
- Water bottle
- First aid kit
Budget your beach expense
Your budget will greatly affect what you will be able to do at the beach. It would be awful to show up at the beach and not be able to afford to have fun because you failed to plan for it. Most beaches and resorts have a website listing the costs of activities if any, so be sure to do your research before packing up and heading out.
Pick the RIGHT Beach
To pick the right beach, you need to be aware of what you want to do at the beach. If you’re looking to relax and have fun in the water for a few days, you may want to look into a nice beach resort. If you’d like to indulge in intense water activities, you might have to look at options where such activities are available. Most beaches in cities do not have intense water activities and you have to look for resorts in and around the city.
It is easy to make your beach trips memorable. Plan it ahead so you don’t miss out on the fun activities. When it’s summer it is the perfect time to enjoy the sun, sand and sea!
