Harvey Wallbanger Cocktail

Harvey Wallbanger is a classic ‘70s cocktail, one among many serendipitous results of mixing drinks. This drink contains vodka, orange juice, and Galliano. Galliano is a sweet liqueur manufactured by infusing alcohol with spices, such as star anise, vanilla, juniper berries, mint, and the hallmark ingredient, vanilla!

Word has it that, the originator of Galliano was an Italian by the name of Arturo Vaccari from Tuscany. However, the drink gets its name from an Italian war veteran, who was recognized for his role in the very first Italo-Ethiopian war. This liqueur also goes by the name Liquore Galliano L’Autentico.

As for the origin of Harvey Wallbanger, there are many a controversy surrounding it. McKesson Imports Company seems to take the credit, at least, for promoting the brand name.
