Ingredients

2 peppers- red, halved and seeded

2 tbsp oil

1/4 tsp caraway seed

1/4 tsp coriander seed

1/2 tsp cumin- grinded

1/2 tsp mint- dried

salt to taste

4 garlic cloves- peeled

1/2 tsp lemon

How To Make Harissa sauce

  • Heat baking sheet in an oven’s broiler, cut the pepper and place it on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Remove and cool down the pepper.
  • Boil salted water in a large pot, add caraway seed, coriander seed, and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Crush toasted seeds in a pestle, add cumin, salt, and mint and grind well to make it a smooth paste.
  • Transfer cumin paste to a blender, add roasted pepper, garlic, lemon juice, oil and blend thoroughly until the puree is very smooth.
