Yogurt has become such a staple in every culture that it is hard to pinpoint its origins. Yogurt is the delight for both kids and grown-ups. Fattoush is in another class of delicacy, a mixture of fruits, onion, tomatoes, and mint leaves. It owes its yummy taste to yogurt, another ingredient nobody would turn down on a good day. You only have to go through the simple steps listed below and you can prepare your own nutritious fattoush right there in your home.

Ingredients

1 lettuce- small

1 onion- red

2 tomatoes

3 cucumbers- small

3 oz olives

1/2 bunch parsley- Italian

1/4 bunch mint leaves

1/2 bunch radish

1 pita bread

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup olive oil

salt to taste

1/2 tsp pepper-powder

3/4 cup yogurt- plain

2 tbsp tahini

1/3 tsp lemon

1 oz dill- fresh and minced

How To Make Fattoush

  • Toast and set the pita bread aside.
  • Mix onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, lettuce, parsley, mint leaves in a large bowl and set it aside.
  • Add and mix olive oil, vinegar, salt, in a small bowl.
  • Pour the vinger mixture into the large bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Break, add and mix the toasted pita bread with the content of the large bowl.
  • Add and mix yogurt, tahini, lemon, salt, black pepper powder in a small bowl. Add the fresh dill and mix well.
  • Sprinkle the yogurt sauce on the toasted bread and serve at once.
