Ingredients

cups of whole wheat flour: 3

cup of warm water: 1

teaspoon of oil

salt to taste

Flour (for sprinkling)

How To Make Chapatti

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the wheat flour and salt, and oil. Add warm water in batches and knead to a smooth dough, cover it with a cloth or lid and let rest for at least 10 minutes.
  2. After the time is over, divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into balls. Dust each ball with flour and roll flat using a rolling pin
  3. Place a tawa on medium heat and delicately place a piece on the surface. When spots begin to spears and the dough begins to dry, flip over and toast the other side for the same amount of time. Place the half-cooked chapatti on open fire. When it puffs up completely, flip to cook the other side. Care must be taken not to expose each surface too long to the fire to prevent the chapattis from burning. This comes from practice.
