Ingredients

boiled chickpeas: 2 tbsp

cardamom: 5

black peppercorns: 4

bay leaves: 2

cinnamon stick: 2

tea bag: 1

salt to taste

small onions- peeled and sliced: 3

tomato puree: 2 cups

cloves: 2

ginger-garlic paste: 2 tsp

garam masala powder or chole masala: 2 tsp

cumin powder: 3 tsp

paprika powder: 1 tsp

kashmiri chili powder: 1 tsp

Ghee: 1 tsp

How To Make Black Chole

  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight, drain, and set aside.
  2. Place the chickpeas, some water, tea bag, bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, and a little
    salt in the pressure cooker.
  3. Allow it to cool, then press the contents until soft becomes soft.
  4. Heat oil in a wok.
  5. Once, hot stir in the onions and the cloves.
  6. Cook until they appear golden brown.
  7. Add the garlic-ginger paste and cook for 3 minutes. Ensure the smell of the garlic-ginger paste dissipates.
  8. Stir in the tomato puree, cover, and heat for 12 minutes on a medium flame.
  9. Mix the chole masala, paprika powder, red chilli, and cumin powder.
  10. Apply heat for another 2 minutes.
  11. Stir in the drained chickpeas, making sure they are coated with spices. It may be necessary to add water to the mix.
  12. Replace the cover and let heat for another 25 minutes.
  13. Mix 1 tbsp of ghee and let it cook for 2 minutes.
  14. Serve immediately and enjoy.
