Ingredients

extra virgin olive oil

small rainbow trout, properly cleaned and butter flied: 2

small lemon, sliced and diced: 1

parsley leaves: 4

salt to taste

Ground black pepper to taste

How To Make Baked Trout

  • Heat the oven to about 400 degrees F.
  • Cut two sheets of aluminum foil that should be large enough to coat the fish
  • Place the trout on each piece of the foil.
  • Sprinkle some oil on both sides.
  • Season both sides of the trout with salt and pepper.
  • Place two parsley and lemon slices across the middle of each fish.
  • Fold up the foil by holding the edges to make a packet.
  • Place the packets of fish onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Check each packet for about 10 minutes or until the flesh becomes tender.
  • At the end of the cooking the flesh should easily come apart.
  • Carefully place each packet on a plate. Open them up slowly to prevent the steam from burning you.
  • Slide the aluminum foil away from the packet and onto the plate. Enjoy!
